Alot of the scenes are dark and are shot looking through something, often completely black on the edges with bright almost primary colours lighting the subjects.&nbsp; He particularly seems to like reds and oranges which give a warm sensual nature to the images.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Vhqukg_XCyw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The techniques outlined in this video:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wide angle lens as wide as 18 mm<\/li>\n<li>long lenses<\/li>\n<li>shallow depth of field<\/li>\n<li>angles off kilter<\/li>\n<li>moving camera<\/li>\n<li>use of colour, influenced the neon colours<\/li>\n<li>embraced random chaos of colours<\/li>\n<li>used dark alleys and tight spaces<\/li>\n<li>silhouetted&nbsp;actors against the colours<\/li>\n<li>liked buildings and the way light fell on them<\/li>\n<li>inspired low angle shots<\/li>\n<li>used small spaces and street lights<\/li>\n<li>the lighting in a naturalistic environment is always from the top<\/li>\n<li>actors always lit by one light, rarely any back light or glamour light<\/li>\n<li>introduce a slight blue tint into the faces of the leading ladies.<\/li>\n<li>Contrast ratio of the charts<\/li>\n<li>Blacks had a lot of green in because he&#8217;s using fuji film<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cI think the point of cinematography, of what we do, is intimacy.
